“Ruben is hands down the best caterer I could ever have ever hoped for on our 5.22.21 wedding at Big Spring Farm in Lexington, VA.

I don’t even know where to begin because I’m honestly sad writing this knowing we are no longer working together. I knew before getting engaged that we would have bbq at our wedding. With Hogback every single thing clicked and it’s the only caterer we considered. The food is SO good that we will go down in history as the wedding with the best food (which is what I always wanted!) One of our guests had three helpings of the cole slaw and said it was the best he’s ever had, and let me tell you this man knows his food. Everyone else couldn’t stop raving about the brisket, mac and cheese, cornbread, everything. Anyways, Ruben not only has the best food (if you are truly looking for epic grub I don’t know why you’d even bother looking elsewhere after coming across his business), but beyond this he’s the most incredible vendor to work with. He’s extremely prompt, patient, helpful and kind. I basically texted him through email because he was that good and receptive to anything and everything I asked. No task was too big or small for him, and he and his team went above and beyond to ensure we had the most incredible day, and it was just that. I actually decided to book Hogback as our rehearsal dinner as well at Great Valley Farm Brewery because it was just so easy and stress free to work with them, and after trying Ruben’s bbq at the brewery one day we were HOOKED. He even added little things here and there that I asked for help with (apple crates for decoration, ice cream scoops etc.). I truly cannot recommend Hogback Mountain enough, but I hope this review shows how easy it should be to stop reading reviews and pick this vendor ASAP!!!“

    I booked them for my wedding in August and not only was the food DELICIOUS, Reuben was amazing to work with. It turned out our venue required a ton of extras from the caterer that aren't usually in a standard catering contract and Reuben was so sympathetic and worked so hard to tweak things and make it perfect. He was extremely responsive via e-mail and was so kind in all of our conversations. He really cares about the events that he caters and it's so obvious the love and hard work he puts in to each one. We had a lot of back and forths with our venue and Reuben accommodated all of our changes and was super flexible with everything. He was also really helpful with rentals and all of the other things that come up with planning a catered event! I highly recommend his services and am so thankful that we found him for our wedding! Again, the food is incredible!”
